Driving down the Cuesta Grade from Paso Robles to San Luis Obispo, the view with the mountains intersecting with the highway in the middle and the bridge and tunnel for the train off to the right makes for an interesting panorama thus the large scale painting! The painting has an abstract style with thick antipasto strokes and warm and cool tones.
This was painted on location a la plein air downtown Paso Robles. I was excited to work outside standing on the street with the acorn tower in the background free to use bold primary colors to create the shapes of the buildings!
